Delhi University Recruitment 2026

The University of Delhi has invited online applications for 126 Senior Assistant and Assistant vacancies under Advertisement No. R&P/323/2026. The application deadline is 9 November 2026 or within two weeks of publication in Employment News, whichever is later. The posts carry Pay Levels 4 and 6 under the 7th CPC.

Eligibility

• Senior Assistant: Requires three years of prescribed experience.
• Assistant: Requires two years of prescribed experience and typing speed of 35 words per minute in English or 30 words per minute in Hindi.
• A Bachelor’s Degree alone is not sufficient for either post.
• PwBD reservations are horizontal and included within the notified vacancies. Applicants from UR, SC, ST, OBC and EWS categories may claim eligible PwBD reservations, subject to disability conditions.
• If a PwBD vacancy remains unfilled, one corresponding UR vacancy will be kept vacant.

Experience Requirements

• Senior Assistant: Three years of experience as Assistant or equivalent in Level 4 in Central/State Government, universities, PSUs or Central/State Autonomous Bodies. Equivalent‑pay experience in reputed private companies or corporate banks with a minimum annual turnover of Rs. 200 crore is also permitted.
• Assistant: Two years of experience as Junior Assistant or equivalent in a university, research establishment, Central/State Government, PSU or autonomous body. Equivalent‑pay experience in reputed private companies or corporate banks with a minimum annual turnover of Rs. 200 crore is also permitted.

Typing Requirement

Assistant applicants must demonstrate the prescribed typing speed in English or Hindi. Typing proficiency forms part of the qualifying skill assessment.

Age Limit and Relaxation

• The age limit is determined as of the applicable closing date of the advertisement.
• Age relaxation is applicable to eligible SC, ST, OBC (Central List), PwBD, ex‑servicemen and other specified categories according to Central Government orders adopted by the University of Delhi.
• Eligible applicants with at least three years of regular service in the same or allied field in prescribed government, university, autonomous or PSU organizations may receive relaxation up to five years or the number of completed years of qualifying service, whichever is less.
• The prescribed direct‑recruitment upper age limit is not insisted upon for eligible departmental candidates of the University or its colleges.
• Specified University/college contractual, daily‑wage or ad‑hoc employees with at least one year of service may receive a one‑time exemption, subject to the conditions in the notification.
• The special exemption does not extend to employees working through outsourced agencies or project‑based contract assignments.
