WBPSC Clerkship Examination 2024

The Public Service Commission, West Bengal (WBPSC) has revised the application schedule for the Clerkship Examination, 2024 (Advertisement No. 12/2024). The latest announcement dated 25 October 2026 extends the last date for online applications from 26 October to 1 November 2026. The application edit window, previously 28 October – 1 November, is now 3 November – 8 November 2026.

• Online application deadline: 1 November 2026 (same day as fee payment deadline)
• Edit window: 3 November – 8 November 2026
• Categories requiring certificates during edit window: SC, ST, OBC, EWS, Meritorious Sportspersons, Ex‑Servicemen, PwBD
• Application fee: as specified in the official notification

Recruitment Scope

• Posts: Lower Division Assistant, Lower Division Clerk, and similar clerical posts across West Bengal government offices
• Vacancies: Total number and reservation-wise distribution to be announced later
• Appointment: Initially temporary; may become permanent
• Locations: Secretariat Departments, Directorates, District offices, regional offices (including Kolkata)

Selection Process

1. Part‑I: Objective examination (date tentative, not yet confirmed)
2. Part‑II: Conventional written examination
3. Computer Operation & Typing Assessment: Conducted after qualifying both Part‑I and Part‑II

Eligibility Criteria

• Educational qualification: Passed Madhyamik Examination (West Bengal Board of Secondary Education) or equivalent
• Computer & typing: Elementary knowledge of computer operation; typing speed of 20 WPM in English or 10 WPM in Bengali (select option during application)
• Nationality: Indian citizen (by birth, registration, or eligible nationality)
• Language: Must read, write, and speak Bengali; exception for Nepali mother‑tongue speakers
• Age, reservation rules, salary, and other conditions: As detailed in the official notification
