Specialist Medical Officer Recruitment 2026 – Jharkhand
Overview
The National Health Mission (NHM), Jharkhand has announced two recruitment notifications for a total of 306 Specialist Medical Officer (SMO) vacancies:

Eligibility
- Educational Qualification – MBBS degree plus a relevant postgraduate degree or diploma in the specialty, from an NMC‑recognised institution.
- Age Limit – 23 to 64 years.
- Medical Registration – Valid registration with the National Medical Commission.

- NHM Programme (106 posts) – Anesthesia, Dermatology, ENT, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, General Medicine, Psychiatry, Radiology, Surgery.
- Non‑Teaching (200 posts) – Anesthesia, ENT, Obstetrics & Gynaecology, Ophthalmology, Orthopedics, Psychiatry, Radiology, Surgery, Forensic Medicine, Pathology, Paediatrics, General Medicine, Dermatology, Cardiology.
Application Process
- Online application window – 8 Oct 2026 to 15 Nov 2026 (extended from 31 Oct 2026).
- Age cut‑off – 31 Oct 2026.
- Selection – Facility‑wise bidding; candidates submit bids and are allocated to facilities based on the bid amount.
